It can be hard to decide what to do when you get ready to send one of your girlfriends off with one last party before she ties the knot. Depending on the group of girls invited to take part in the festivities, it can be difficult to try to please everyone with the activities planned for the bachelorette party.

I mean let’s be honest, that’s why you signed up for this gig, right? OK, so maybe it’s not your first rodeo. Or, maybe it is. Either way, here are some ideas for pulling it off in North Lake Tahoe this summer that are sure to make your buds happy without breaking the bank.
Downhill Mountain Biking
You think getting married is the craziest thing anyone will ever do, huh? Wrong. Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort is home to the most extensive lift-served mountain bike trail network in the Western U.S. featuring more than 100 miles of trails for downhill and cross-country riding. Don’t worry about bringing a bike, Plaza Bikes in the Village at Northstar is a full service bike shop featuring the latest line of GIANT bikes. And, groups of 15+ receive a $10 discount on daily lift tickets plus a $10 discount on rental bikes at the resort. Oh yeah. At the end of the day, don’t miss uber cheap beer specials at Big Wave Burritos & Wraps in the Village. It’s a ‘must do’ ritual of veteran downhillers.Golf
Some things just go together. Beer and baseball games, weekends and camping trips, bachelor parties and golf, bachelor parties and… Uh, yeah. Golf.Take advantage of one of the most affordable courses in the Truckee-Tahoe area and play Northstar Resort’s 18-hole championship golf course. Whether you want early morning tee times or something after 1 p.m., we’ll accommodate your golf group needs. On-course contests, lunch or a post-golf BBQ can also be coordinated.
Rafting on the Truckee River
Remember the “endless river” at the water park when you were a kid? Add beer. And, you can do it on the cheap. Whether you go through an official rafting company to rent a raft (usually about $35/person) or bring your own tubes, it’s sure to be a good time.Tahoe City is a great starting point, and most people float down the river about 5 miles to the River Ranch. BYOB (as long as it’s non-holiday) and food while you float, and stop along the way to party with all the others who have the same idea. There aren’t any “class” rated rapids, so you’re definitely in for a leisurely float (it usually takes between 2-3 hours).
Kayaking or Stand Up Paddling on Lake Tahoe
If you’re coming to Lake Tahoe, you’d like to spend some time on the lake, right? Right. Stand Up Paddling and kayaking are two of the best ways to enjoy the lake and actually be out on it. Tahoe Paddle & Oar in nearby Kings Beach (just 6 miles from Northstar Resort) has some great deals on equipment rentals by the hour and the day. Pick your flavor and get out there! Surf’s up.Of course, nights out at the bars are just as important as daytime activities. We’ve got you covered. Between the bars in Historic Downtown Truckee and the nearby lakeside casinos, North Lake Tahoe has just the right mix for those who want to go big, and those who are OK with more mellow evenings. Be sure to check shuttle schedules, call a cab, or pick a designated driver. (Sorry, the groom isn’t it. Try again.)
And, don’t worry ladies… suggestions for the perfect bachelorette party are coming soon.
