Coming up to the mountains to ski or ride over the holidays can be a busy time, there’s no doubt. So, we thought we’d throw you a bone. We’ve compiled some tips to ease your stay…

    Before you leave home:
    Buy your tickets in advance
You can purchase a 6-Pack of lift tickets online and spend less than $50 a day with no blackout dates. Or pick up a Double Whammy Season Pass (starting at just $399) and ski or ride both Northstar and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resorts all season long! After just five visits you’re skiing or riding for FREE.

Reserve rental equipment online in advance
That way your equipment will be ready for you and you can get out on the slopes quickly.

Be Smart about Ski & Snowboard School
Make a reservation if you know you are going to take any kind of lesson. And, always arrive early to breeze through the check-in process.

    Once you’re here:
Getting From the Village to Mid-Mountain
If you’re an intermediate or advanced skier/rider, consider taking the Village Express lift to mid-mountain, instead of the Big Springs Express Gondola.

    Getting to The Backside Quickly
Advanced skiers/riders can take the Tahoe Zephyr Express to the Drifter ski trail to access The Backside of Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort quickly.

    Ski/Ride to Lookout Mountain
Looking for the best way to get to Lookout Mountain? Consider taking the new Lookout Bypass trail instead of the Lookout Link lift.

Fast Pass Priority Lane Ticket Upgrade
For just $20 more per day, you can add a Fast Pass to your lift ticket, which gives you access to priority lift lines.

    Eat Lunch Early or Late
It’s always easier to eat before 11:30 a.m. or after 2:00 p.m. Try lunch in one of the 10 restaurants and eateries in the Village at Northstar, at the new Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe, or The Summit Deck and Grill at the top of the mountain.

    Take the Road Less Traveled
Avoid the end-of-the-day departure on Village Run, by taking either Logger’s Loop to The Woods or take Home Run directly down the mountain back to the Village at Northstar.

    Stay Awhile
Avoid the end of day rush to leave the resort by finding a spot at TC’s Pub in the Village and become part of the après ski scene. Or, enjoy a hot or cold drink around one of the fire pits that surround the skating rink, take a spin around the rink yourself, and listen to the live music!

We look forward to sharing the holiday cheer and making fond memories with you and yours this year, and every year. Looking for more planning tips and deals to save time and money? Visit www.NorthstarAtTahoe.com.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a cheap date. I don’t always need a “date night” to include an expensive dinner and drinks, followed by an astronomically expensive activity – a movie at the theater, tickets to a show, whatever.

While that definitely can be a lot of fun, more often than not I’m looking for a way to enjoy a night out that won’t result in heart palpitations when I see the transaction amount that hits the checkbook the next day.
